Ingredients to Make a Jambon Beurre

  • Crispy French baguette
  • Good quality salted butter at room temperature
  • Jambon de Paris, or any other good quality ham, sliced very thinly

Tips on Making this Jambon Beurre Recipe

  1. A fresh baguette works best for this recipe. However, if your bread is a couple days old and turning hard, briefly run it under water then pop it into a hot oven for a few minutes until it turns crusty and warm.
  2. Invest in a good quality baguette, salted butter, and ham for this recipe. The quality makes all the difference in taste!
  3. Make sure your butter is room temperature. If it is too cold, it won’t be able to spread properly on your baguette. The flavor will also be different if your butter is melted. You want your butter to spread like a paste, so that you can still get a good hearty bite of that butter with the ham when biting into your sandwich. The flavors will then melt in your mouth.
  4. This jambon beurre recipe pairs really well with a lovely side of mixed greens with a French vinaigrette.

Health Notes

  • This sandwich is good for your soul.
