There was no other choice but for me to figure out how to make my own limeade recipe so that I could have fresh limeade on hand all summer long. And let me tell you, this recipe does not disappoint!

Fresh Homemade Limeade

This fresh homemade limeade is the perfect summertime refresher. Made with fresh lime juice, this drink is sweet and tart and is sure to cool you down on a hot summer day!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup lime juice freshly squeezed from about 8-10 limes, or more as needed
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 6 cups water

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with 1 cup of granulated white sugar. Stir continuously over medium-low heat until the sugar is fully dissolved and no crystals remain. Once fully dissolved, immediately remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
  • Prepare to squeeze your lime juice by first rolling your limes on the countertop to soften them, and then cutting your limes in half. Using a lime juicer or your hands, squeeze the juice into a measuring cup until you have 1 cup of lime juice (from about 8-10 limes, or more as needed). Remove any seeds from the lime juice.
  • Pour your freshly squeezed lime juice, cooled simple syrup, and remaining 5 cups of water into a large pitcher. Stir to combine. May be refrigerated ahead of time. To serve, pour over ice and garnish with a lime wedge.
